I went down the hallway to ask my RA a question and then to knock on 1001's door to ask them for a glass. So I left my RAs room and was walking down the hall, when he comes out of the stairwell, holding a few pots. We exchanged hello's, and I told him I had been on my way to visit anyway to ask a question, so he told me to come in, and what was the question. So I asked for a glass, as in a cup not made of plastic. He said, "Sure, but it's going to cost you". So I asked how much, and he said, "You have to come with me to a spoken word performance because I don't want to go alone". So, picture me dying right there.
I didn't know that he meant it was in 20 minutes and I was like, "I would love to do that. I was coming down here to ask you about that, too", and proceeded to explain to him about how I was on Relay For Life's planning committee and the entertainment co-chair wanted to have auditions for bands in the beginning of March. Meanwhile, he's cooking an egg, cheese and broccoli omlette during this convo. Then we discussed how he did a better job than I could, and he said "I doubt that, but thanks for the compliment", so I clarified that I don't do eggs. Except on Passover. Which he was like "hard boiled? I love hard-boiled eggs". So...maybe my lil buddy is a lil Jewwy too? He gets better everytime we speak.
He has moved into the common area (yesterday), and I noted that he didn't make his bed today, and he said, "Never". Then we sat at the table and talked while he inhaled his omlette and I looked through his 'impulse buy' book which was a book about calligraphy. And then there was a deck of cards on the table and he was like "Do you play cards?" So I said, "Sometimes", and there was a pause and I asked the same, and he said, "Yeah, wanna play?" so I said, "Sure", but then he was like, "actually, I think I'm gonna go to the show since I signed up". So that's where we left that. But now that I know I'm cool enough to invite places, I'll have to return the favor. Or at LEAST play some cards.
