I don't really know why it came up last night, but we started talking about the 'new' Rabbi, and how he apparently wouldn't let Desmond up on the bimah because he wasn't Jewish.  And Amy made the point that the Torah was HIS Bible too, etc etc.  Everyone was getting really into the convo, and Steve (Grass) made this comment about how when we'd had the bomb scare (I don't know WHAT bomb scare!  How did I miss that!?!) it had been CHARLIE who had run into the sanctuary to grab the Torah's.  And...amazing.  I have loved Charlie (and Albert!) my entire life, and this was just another story.  What will we do when he REALLY retires?
