Monday after class, I went to El Cantenero's with Roaine, Priyanka, Val, Lisa H, and Stacey. It was delicious and amazing and hysterical! I loooove the people in my major.
Tuesday we had OFF from the kids because of the elections. I COULD have gone to professional development, but I decided instead to go to class, stay on campus to work, and then go to my 3:30. At the comp lab, I sat next to the kid from DERRICK (a really funny NYU improv group), who is BASICALLY a celebrity to me, then Romi showed up and we talked for a while. Then I left the print lab, went to Space Market to check out the soup situation for that afternoon before going to Union Square to pet the cats, and ran into Vicky. GLORIOUS. I have missed her soooo much. So that ruled, then I DID go to the cats, but they weren't so great. Then I decided to go get a falafel from the Pita Pocket. Walked by KERRI RUSSELL in the process (I am 90% sure). Tuesday night during the break in class, Tony came over to the vending machine and LITERALLY picked me up, even though I soooooo outweigh him.
Wednesday was the Student Teaching Convocation, which meant no student teaching. I went to my America Reads job from 7:30 - 10, took the M21 to campus, GOT PUSHED BY A GUY ON THE STREET (like, not bumped into, his hands were out and he PUSHED ME this 40-year oldish business man...and I actually was so NOT myself and I pushed him back!) in the pouring rain that did not let up ONCE on Wednesday. Thought it was going to be a crappy day, but Convocation was typical, nothing really interesting, saw some good people like Jasmine who is back at NYU!, and went back to the comp lab. WAAAAAAAY less productive, but that's okay. Bree's class was arrite. I've been volunteering like WHOAAA lately. Then Dan tapped me and was like, 'wanna go buy a book with me?' cause we have a 'book report' due next week and both of us suck and didn't have books. Oh Dan using me! How I've missed you!
Oh, then Wednesday night was the Ted Leo/Death Cab for Cutie concert. The one I got to see FOR FREE. Yeaaaaaaaah. Life rules. We missed Ted Leo, but I got over it quickly. ONE day, I WILL see Ted Leo live.
Thursday was back to typical - Class at 8, work with the kindergarners. I had to stay late to work on the block area, and there was noooo music, but it was okay. Sometimes, sitting alone is so nice. No requirements at all.
Then I met up with my roommates for a family dinner at Galanga on West 4th. Not bad, not my favorite. I'd go back. Then Jeanette, Ellen and I went to K-mart for tonight. We struck out...but I saw Mat Miller!!!! Hi Mat! Then Dan and I met up, went to TWO Barnes and Nobles, and are now splitting "Chew On This" for our project. Watch, Bree is gonna put us in the same group for presenting. Obvs. Thursday night, while reading the book, my cellphone was actually on. So I got a call...from a restricted number...from Justina. Who I haven't spoken to since graduation 4 years ago. And wasn't close to to start with. She wasn't looking for me (I don't think), but what a weird 50 seconds of life. How did she have my number? Who on earth has my number that talks to Justina?
Thursday after she watched Grey's, Lisa called and let me come 2 doors over and we drank tea and ended up watching most of Jersey Girl which reaaaaaaaaaally isn't that terrible. Took some field trips, went to Jay's to get her charger, Pete's but he wasn't home, and Jake's but he didn't answer. Saw Amy and Matt going to Jay's. I know I saw someone else, oh Steph Cheng going back to the low rises. Then towards 11, when I was gonna go to bed, Nina and Liz and Maxie showed up, and told us stories about Monday night that ended with a naked and bleeding from the head Nina being taken to the hospital. OHHHH Nina. You are truly a crazy beatch. ...but I think we're starting to be friends and you're not going to kill me anymore?
Friiiiiday I student taught my lovelies, had lunch w/ Erica and Jook and got to hear all these little things that Erica said are sorta untrue but sometimes you have to let ppl talk and agree with them, helped Cesar have FUN at the yearbook meeting. Then when I was leaving, there was this INTENSE fight btwn Zip (the principal), and some dad. Really crazy.
Got paid, walked up 2nd ave to get to a meeting at Priyanka's for a midterm due Monday. Walked into Dan, who I told last night I am blind and now he believes me. And inside Dunkin Donuts while we talked, I hear, "Emily!" and can't see the shadowy figure, but it ends up being one of my little kindergartners, Maxwell. Who is apparently still 4 years old, so now I understand why he is sooo immature.
Group meeting was good. Took the train to Union Sq with Euwon and met her boyfriend, then went to services. Went to the big dinner at Water Street afterwards, which was amazing and I got to talk to these 2 pre-med juniors, Brian and Andre all night, and they were pretty great.
Today, after I do mad work and go to the bank so I don't lose my paycheck, I am cleaning the apartment quite a bit, 'cause oh that's right OUR '90s PARTY IS TONIGHT! So is the Relay for Life planning committee soiree, but I don't think I can go. Whatever. Tonight's gonna ROCK.
